Day 9: Tue 2 Sep - Bangkok
We all met for breakfast at 7am and then did our own thing. The MEPS Board meeting was scheduled for 12pm, so I made my way to BITEC in time to get an early take-away lunch to take to the meeting.
MEPS had been asked to host an extra session with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on Health Care in Danger (HCiD). Jane and Zheng-yu co-chaired that meeting and I took copious notes to write an article for the IPJ and to give Bruce (the presenter) feedback on the session.
Sylvain
had been invited to the French reception, traditionally held at the French
Embassy and he nominated me as his ‘partner’.
So, after a quick change of shoes it was off to BTS to find our way to
the French Embassy. Jane was also invited,
and she took Richard as her ‘date’. As
usual, the speeches went on forever and being in French, it was not that
exciting for us non francophones.
Company, food and beverages were all good though. It was quite an early
night.
