Day 10: Wed 3 Sep - Bangkok
We
were all up very early in order to be at the BITEC for the breakfast session
which started at 7:30am. Regis was one
of the presenters and the session is a joint CPS-MEPS session, so it was
important that as many MEPS members, especially Board members, were present.
After that early session it was off to the MEPS only sessions. Both the morning and afternoon sessions this year were a bit different to previous years; we had only 2 presentations per session with a panel discussion in each. Sylvain ran the morning session, and I ran the afternoon session, with Jane assisting with the panel discussion in place of Alex.
In between the sessions, during the lunch break we had the MEPS Business Meeting.
Fortunately,
the afternoon session finished a bit earlier and we all had plenty of time to
get back to our respective hotels, change for dinner, catch the BTS to the Shangri-La
Hotel where we congregated for the boat trip to the Supatra River House
restaurant. It was quite a rough ride to
the restaurant as the wind had come up and together with other boats, there was
some heavy swell happening. The
restaurant was quite a flash one with a pre-set menu. Of course, they made every effort to
accommodate those vegetarians and non-seafood eaters. Included in the price was 2 drinks of your
choice; I had 2 beers. We were taken
back to the Shangri-La on the boat and then caught a taxi back to the hotel. It was quite a late night.
